I happened upon the template business...all by chance. At the time I was mostly offering ghostwriting services to my clients. In 2017, I published a journal and after posting it to social media, I received a cornucopia of messages and comments asking how I designed the journal. In my mind, the design was simple, but I quickly realize that what is easy to me isn't always easy for others.

I took the inside pages of my journal ( I did not even remove the content) and sold my first template for $19.99! I sold 100+ digital downloads in the first month. At that time my highest ghostwriting package was $2000 and it would normally take months to complete one project. EUREKA - I found a passive stream of income. After my first template, I continued to create templates and eventually created my template membership program in 2020.

Currently, my template business (membership program plus individual sales) is a six-figure business model. The model includes monthly and annual subscriptions and add-on coaching sessions.

Last year this business model generated $95,787.09 in subscriptions and individual template sales and $22,560 in add-on coaching for vault members.

While I cannot guarantee the income you will make, what I can tell you is that I will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know to start your own template business based on your authority/expertise. I will share all the mistakes I made, lessons learned, and most importantly...WHAT WORKS!

I was able to tap into my self-publishing authority to create my template business. But templates are not only profitable for the publishing industry. The truth is you can create a template for any industry. For example, I am currently building a membership program for my non-profit organization in which I will be providing parents of children with autism with templates to help them teach their children on the spectrum.

So what's your authority? Think about what you are good at, your experience or expertise and how you can use it to create templates that can solve a problem for your target audience. That target audience can be the people you currently serve or colleagues or individuals in the same industry as you.

For example, I create publishing templates for aspiring and current authors, but I can also create templates for other publishing professionals and coaches.

Here's a quick and free tip. Go to etsy and search: Templates for [TARGET AUDIENCE OR TOPIC OF AUTHORITY]. If there are sellers on Etsy profiting from your search, it is normally a good indication that you too can profit from it.
